How to get involved

There are so many opportunities to join in and contribute at Marshall Road State School.

Here are some of the areas in the P&C that need volunteers:

Tuckshop

Open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for first and second break.
Run by the wonderful Natalie and Kara along with a handful of volunteers, these lovely ladies are always appreciative of extra hands and new people coming to help. Fridays are the busiest day but any spare time you have to help is welcome.

Uniform Shop

Open fortnightly Tuesday mornings. Run by the wonderful Kara. Volunteering here would give you a great insight into how we manage and purchase uniforms from the best suppliers for our children. Come along and help out and meet lots of our parent community.

Swim Club

Currently running a weekly swim club creating a friendly, social environment where the kids can keep fit in an environment as competitive as they want it to be. All races are set by time, not age, so all can feel encouraged.
This term we are fortunate enough to have secured a swim coach for learn to swim and squad training.

Sustainability

If keeping our school green and beautiful is your thing join our sustainability working group and get your ideas going. Headed up by the fabulous Sophie last year we regenerated the vegie gardens in the middle of the school and started the re-beautification of the permaculture area. There are lots of plans for this area this year with working bees already being planned. Join in quick as all input is welcome to make our school the best place.

Fete & Fundraising

This group of volunteers are led by the executive, and organise numerous events throughout the year to raise funds for all the projects voted on by the P&C members. These events include Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls, movie night, markets, election day bbq’s and of course the Fete.
The number and variety of roles to be filled within this sub-committee are wide ranging so there is bound to be something you can contribute to, making the biggest event on the school calendar a memorable day for all the kids and the community.

Music Support Group

If music is your passion come and meet the ladies who organise the music concerts in terms 2 and 4 and a school disco for the kids (and parents) to raise much needed funds for the great music programme available at MRSS.
